I am a second-year PhD student in History at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Professor Nicholas Guyatt. I study British and American multinational construction firms in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. I use these companies as a way into meatier debates about the nature of late imperialism, the emergence of global capitalism, and the transition from a British to an American world order.
